More about John..

What’s the most daring/scariest thing you have done?

A passion of mine is Hiking, and scaling and scrambling up and down Grib Goch in the dark was very scary (batteries on the headtorch died!).

Tell us something that not many people would know about you?

I competed in adult Chess tournaments aged 7, beating my former headmaster which was my claim to fame, and made an article in the local paper (it was a free paper… and probably still is!.

If you weren’t a lawyer or in your current profession, what would you be doing?

I’m a keen movie watcher/cinema goer and love editing. Therefore a ‘Film Editor’ or something to do with film production 🧐.

What was your first job?

My first job was an office clerk for an Life Insurance broker.

Tell us something that not many people would know about you?

In my youth I played trumpet in a wind band and orchestra and enjoyed performing at concerts in Belfast. I won some medals doing Irish dancing and wore one of the those bright green dresses.   I also swam for my home town for ten years and still enjoy swimming now and also represented my school in track & field.

if you weren’t in your current profession, what would you be doing?

If I was not doing this job I would have loved to have been a backing dancer, I think they are amazing to watch.

What’s the most daring/scariest thing you have done?

The most daring or scariest thing – Either sandboarding on Moreton Island (and that was lying down not even standing up!) or learning to ride a bike 2 years ago. It hurts more when you fall off as an adult!

Tell us something that not many people would know about you?

Not many people know – I have watched all 264 episodes of Murder She Wrote in order. When I grow up, I want to be just like Jessica Fletcher, shall we say an inquisitive older lady with a puzzle solving mind! 😊
